Still remembering eleven years later.
The irony? In the actual Halo universe, 9/11 was the spark for an even worse attack against...New Jerusalem, I believe. Same planet that the Rookie from ODST was dropped into and got glassed towards the end of the war. Anti-religious fanatics acquired a dirty nuke and slipped it aboard a freigher. Then they crashed it into the largest building in the capital city. 2,000,000 deaths instantly, who knows how many dead from radiation. All in the name of vengeance.
And this was in 2540, so it's possible the Spartans would have been deployed there for some reason. So this picture could actually be canon.
